What Joblit does
Joblit screens the people who apply to your jobs. You write a job and get a link. You send that link wherever you already advertise. Every applicant answers the same six questions in their browser, we score their answers against the job you described, and anyone who clears the bar you set has an interview booked onto your calendar. Everyone else hears back the same day.
Joblit is run by Johan Fuerte, a sole proprietor in California. Using it means these terms apply to you.
What a score is
A score ranks one applicant's answers against the job you wrote. Every applicant for that job answers the same questions in the same order, which is what makes the scores worth comparing to each other.
It is a way of ordering a stack of applications — the first read, not the last word. It is not a measure of a person and not a prediction of how they will do the job. Any applicant can ask for a person to review their result, and so can you.
Who decides
You do. Joblit decides who gets an interview. You decide who gets hired.
You are the employer in every sense that follows from that. The job is yours, the interview is yours, the offer is yours, and so is the duty to hire lawfully — equal opportunity, right to work, wage and hour rules, and whatever else your state asks of you. We hand you a shortlist. What you do with it is your call.
What we promise, and what we don't
We promise the screening runs, that everyone applying to a job is asked the same thing, that scoring is consistent, and that a booking reaches your calendar when someone clears your bar.
We don't promise you a hire, or that any particular number of people will apply. That depends on the job, the pay, and where you advertise it, and none of those are ours. A product that promised you a hire would be promising something it cannot deliver.
Your account
Use your real business name and an email you actually read — booking confirmations and candidate results go there. One account per business. Your password is yours to look after, and anything done from your account is treated as done by you.
What Joblit is for
Joblit is for filling real jobs that you mean to fill.
So: don't post a job that doesn't exist, don't run screenings to collect information about people you have no intention of hiring, and don't charge applicants anything. Don't write something in a job post you wouldn't say to someone's face. Don't scrape the site, don't try to break it, and don't use it to contact people about things they didn't ask for.
The public board
Your job reaches the public board at joblit.app only after we've reviewed it, usually within a day. Until then it exists as your share link and nothing else — the link works immediately and doesn't wait on review.
Once it's there, we can take it down — if the opening isn't real, if it's misleading about pay or hours, or if it breaks anything above. The board is a promise to the people reading it that what's on it is real, and that promise is worth more than any one listing. Taking a job off the board leaves your share link, your screenings and your existing results exactly as they were.
Paying for Joblit
Joblit is $99 a month. Cancel any time from the billing page; your account keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for. We don't refund part of a month — cancelling stops the next charge rather than reversing the last one.
Our first hundred employers are free for as long as they stay. That is not a trial, and there is no card to cancel.
What you see about applicants
An applicant's answers, score and contact details are there so you can decide whether to interview and hire them for the job they applied to. Use them for that. Don't sell them, don't pass them on, and don't feed them into something else. How we handle the same information is in the privacy policy.
When something breaks
We aim to keep Joblit running and to tell you when it isn't. Parts of it rest on other companies — calendar, video, email, payments — and when one of them has an outage, we have one too.
If we owe you something, what we owe is limited to what you've paid us in the twelve months before it happened. Hiring outcomes aren't in that: a hire that didn't work out, a candidate who didn't turn up, or revenue you expected are results of hiring people, not of software.
Ending it
Cancel from the billing page whenever you like. To close your account and remove what's on it, email hello@joblit.app and we'll do it.
We can end an account that breaks these terms, and if we do we'll tell you why. Interviews already booked with candidates stay booked unless you cancel them yourself — someone who cleared your bar and put a time in their diary shouldn't find out by being stood up.
Changes, and where to reach us
If something meaningful here changes, we'll tell you before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of the State of California.
Anything at all: hello@joblit.app.
