Sterile Processing Technician Lead

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED equivalent with two years' experience in Sterile Processing.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: Certification as a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT), or other sterile processing certification required. Certification in Sterile Processing Management strongly encouraged within three years of hire.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Expert in all aspects of the sterile processing cycle and ability to provide guidance and education to SPD employees. 2. Assumes role and responsibilities Sterile Processing Supervisor when assigned. 3. Assists Sterile Processing Supervisor with maintaining department production requirements by leading and directing SPD employees. 4. Assists with case carts management and communicates issues to the Sterile Processing Supervisor. 5. Uses excellent communication skills when discussing instrument needs with Sterile Processing Supervisor, SPD Liaisons, and/or OR Clinical Coordinators. 6.
