Job Title: Instructional Aide, Special Education
Reports to: Site Principal/Program Manager
Primary Functions: Under general direction of the Certificated Instructional Support Personnel, (Resource Specialist, SDC Teacher, Speech Therapist, Counselor, or Teacher), perform a variety of instructional and behavioral support activities for special education students, help students needing physical assistance related to medical or health disabilities, help to interpret the school program for the community and provide community feedback to the classroom experience.
Performance Responsibilities
- Perform instructional related activities such as the presentation of lessons for special education students.
- Correct tests and homework
- Prepare instructional materials for general and special needs students
- Organize and teach small learning centers
- Assist the teacher in specialized demonstrations
- Assist special education students in using instructional materials and equipment
- Assist in implementing and assessing student IEP goals.
- Assist in supervision and behavioral intervention of students. …
