Job Summary
Carpinteria Unified School District is hiring Instructional Assistants (Paraprofessionals) to work with our Special Education population at our school campuses.
The PT hours for the shift will be set by the site administrator, but will generally follow the school day schedule, Monday through Friday (6/hrs per day).
Job Description / Essential Elements
- The Instructional Assistant (IA) III is the 3rd level in a career path for instructional support to teachers. IA III’s are typically found in the areas such as labs, cued speech translation, or special day classes for our Special Education children with varying needs.
- An IA III will work on an in-depth basis with small groups and/or individual students on special subjects and exercises, and/or with special needs (including severely disabled) to execute individual lesson plans and strategies for maximizing learning experiences.
- Prepares and may develop age/grade appropriate instructional aids and exercises to support the curriculum being taught.
