Job Summary

Dunsmuir Elementary School seeks dependable, hardworking, student-centered Cafeteria Cook Substitutes to support our school nutrition program. The ideal candidate will help provide healthy meals to students while maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming kitchen environment.

A kitchen cook substitute will:
-Prepare and serve breakfast and lunch meals for students
-Follow school nutrition guidelines and food safety procedures
-Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, food prep areas, and equipment
-Assist with meal counting, food storage, and inventory
-Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
-Receive and store food deliveries properly
-Interact positively with students
-Maintain required records related to meal service and sanitation
-Perform other related duties as assigned to support cafeteria operations

Requirements / Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Food service or kitchen experience preferred
Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
Food Handler Certificate (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
