Job Description / Essential Elements
JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision of the Superintendent or designee, operates a school bus over designated routes for the purpose of transporting students of Escalon Unified School District; performs related work as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION
May include, but not limited to:
1. Drive a school bus daily over designated routes in accordance with
assigned time schedules;
2. Escorts children across streets or roadways, stopping traffic as
necessary;
3. Transports students and teachers on field trips to various locations
making departure and arrival times as scheduled;
4. Service buses with gasoline, diesel fuel and oil;
5. Check vehicles daily to maintain safe operating condition;
6. Cleans windshields and headlights;
7. Keep vehicles clean and neat;
8. Advises on repairs needed;
9. Attend scheduled meetings and safety programs;
10. Maintain good order among students on the buses and encourages same
while students are waiting at the bus stops, following District policies
regarding disciplining of children and contact with parents and others;
