Job Summary
DEFINITION: To assist credentialed personnel, helping in education-related activities and with routine clerical duties, in a classroom, or another setting, for students requiring special services. Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Receives general supervision from a principal and technical and functional supervision from a teacher or other credentialed personnel.
Job Description / Essential Elements
DEFINITION
Under the direction of the Principal, Special Education Director, or Designee, assist the certificated teacher in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of students in an assigned educational program, including the general classroom setting. May assist students with meeting the goals and objectives of their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Shall attend to the physical and health needs of students. Shall act as an Instructional Assistant in performing related tasks.
