Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Graduate from high school or equivalent; 48 units of college level coursework; AA Degree or Certificate of Completion for NCLB requirements.
2. Ability to read, write and speak at a level sufficient to fulfill the assigned duties.
3. Ability to communicate with and effectively supervise students.
4. Ability to assist a diverse range of students in developing self-help and social skills.
5. Ability to maintain a cooperative working relationship with others.
6. Ability to understand and implement appropriate portions of the student’s Individualized Transition Plan (ITP).
7. Ability to use and identify indoor and outdoor recreational activities suitable for special needs students.
Brief Description of Position:

• Assist and train students in the maintenance of personal needs including feeding, combing hair and dressing appropriately.
