Job Summary
The Instructional Assistant – Severely Handicapped supports the delivery of specialized instructional and support services to students with severe disabilities under the supervision of a school principal and the direction of a credentialed teacher. This position assists students with individualized education programs (IEPs) that address academic, behavioral, physical, vocational, and self-help skills. The Instructional Assistant works closely with teachers, staff, families, and community partners to promote student growth, independence, safety, and well-being in classroom, school, and community-based settings. Assignments may occur at district school sites or vocational training locations and may require physical assistance, medical support, and transportation of students.
Requirements / Qualifications
Possess a Literacy Paraprofessional Card or 48 College credits
