Registered Dietitian - Teaching Kitchen

This is a position for The Shepherd's Kitchen where we offer cooking classes for the community; The RD will work in tandem with a chef leading 2-hour classes for up to 20 participants. The RD provides education on the nutritional aspects of the meal while the chef teaches cooking skills. May be required to teach a class independently if a chef is not available. The schedule is based on classes. Our goal is to have 2-3 classes/week - weekdays in the afternoon but also considering weekends at some point. Major Responsibilities:
Nutritional care for patients is provided in accordance with physicians' orders and standards of quality nutritional care that appropriately meet age, psychosocial and physical needs of patients.
Medical record documentation supports system coding standards to maximize reimbursement rates
Reviews medical records for pertinent data. Develops and implements medical nutrition therapy and communicates with the health care team in a collaborative and multidisciplinary manner.
Monitors nutrition care, identifies changes in the patient's nutritional status, and monitors progress made. …
