Job Summary
Under the supervision of a site administrator with direction from the teacher, program director or designee, the Paraprofessional II assists with activities, such as individualized and group instruction of students, preparation of instructional materials, and supervision of students in specialized programs. Positions may require (with assistance) the ability to physically assist the movement of a student throughout their daily transitions at school or with personal hygiene. At the time of posting, there are known vacancies at both the elementary and secondary levels. Interviewees may be asked about their willingness to work as substitute paraprofessional II employees.
Requirements / Qualifications
Qualifications:
1. Previous Experience: At least one year of experience of working with school-aged children. Desirable: experience working with students in specialized programs with specialized needs, including communication and physical disabilities.
2. Education: Equivalent to completion of twelfth grade. Candidates must pass the District’s basic skills test. The District will accept passing CBEST test scores in lieu of the basic skills test.
