Para Educator - Behavioral Support (7 HOURS)

Requirements / Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent AND one of the following:

*Associate of Arts degree in Child Development, Psychology, or other related field of study (transcripts must be attached)

OR

*A minimum of twelve college units in such areas as child behavior, child growth and development, education, or psychology (transcripts must be attached)

OR

*A minimum of two years relevant full time experience in a special education classroom with satisfactory evaluations.

AND

*Must have valid California driver's license and be insurable.
*Two (2) recent letters of reference
*To be considered all requirements MUST BE ATTACHED when submitting application.

In addition to one of the options above, verification of a minimum of six additional hours of in-service training, or three college units, in behavior modification, behavioral intervention, and/or DTT must be completed prior to employment, or completed within one year of employment.

Current certification in behavioral and instructional strategies as offered through workshops and seminars must be maintained in this position (Lancaster School District or SELPA certification are equally acceptable). …
