Job Description / Essential Elements

BASIC FUNCTION:
Under supervision of the principal, assists the teacher and/or administrator by helping students with special language needs, who have English language deficiency attain high levels of scholastic achievement, either individually or in small groups; performs a wide variety of routine clerical and instructionally related tasks and performs other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Assists in the planning strategies used in the instruction of students within
specific programs
· Monitors testing, assembles instructional materials, duplicates materials
and assists in assembling bulletin boards, learning centers and other
areas within the classrooms
· Assists in facilitating instructional programs, working with students on an
individual basis and/or within small groups.
· As assigned, supervises activities of children on the playground, in the
cafeteria, on walkways and in maintaining general order.
· Performs routine clerical functions, such as duplicating materials, record
keeping, correcting form tests and daily student work.
