Job Summary
Under general supervision, to assist teachers in supervising the classroom and playground activities of
children in Special Education classes; to relieve teachers of routine clerical and authorized instructional
duties and do related work as required and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Education equivalent to completion of 12th grade and successful passage of the Instructional Aide test
or meet the NCLB (No Child Left Behind Act) requirements for paraprofessionals (see below)
- Valid current California Driver’s license.
- Some positions within the classification may require other specific experience to assist in
knowledge and/or skill acquisition.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in the public school setting.
- Valid first aid care or certificate.
- Recent successful experience interacting with youth.
This position is part of the Classified Employee Unit at MCUSD/MCOE and will be placed depending on experience on the Classified Employee Salary schedule on Range 14.5.
