Job Summary
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups of severely handicapped students in a classroom, monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; assist students in developing various self-help, social and community skills.
Requirements / Qualifications

MUST BE ESSA COMPLIANT BY HAVING ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Associate's degree or
- Completion or a minimum of 48 units at an institution of higher education by attaching transcripts or
- Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate: proof of passing a locally approved assessment that measures the ability to assist in instruction.
- Examples include the CBEST, ParaPRO, or a District-administered NCLB/ESSA Paraprofessional proficiency exam.
- Applicants who meet the minimum requirements but require a Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate will receive an email invitation to attend a testing session with SCOE.
