Medical Assistant Lead - Union Family Practice

Major Responsibilities:

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice, follows all policies and procedures, and maintains training and competency based on area of specialty when providing patient care.
• Assists the department leader to support daily workflow and operations for maximum efficiency and productivity (i.e. developing and modifying staffing schedules, medication/supply ordering, audits, etc.).
• Assists with training and onboarding and acts as a resource for the team.
• Serves as a role champion or on a committee to support quality, safety, teammate engagement, patient experience, and general process improvement initiatives.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings (depression, suicide, falls, social drivers of health, etc.).
• Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab related duties such as venipuncture, specimen collection/labeling/packing, preparation of lab orders/requisitions, and results tracking. Point of Care testing (POCT) per standing order/provider order. …
