Job Description / Essential Elements
DEFINITION: Clean and maintain the assigned school facility in a clean, orderly, and secure manner under the supervision of the Principal or other assigned administrator and the general supervision of the Director of Maintenance using the standard district procedures and techniques in order to provide students with a safe, comfortable, attractive, clean and efficient place in which to learn, interact and develop.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
- Cleaning methods, materials and equipment used in custodial work
- Requirements of maintaining buildings in a safe, clean, and orderly condition
- Safe practices related to cleaning methods and procedures
- District cleaning practices and procedures
- Laws and procedures related to use, storage, and disposal of chemicals, trash, and waste materials
- Injury prevention program
Ability to:
- Efficiently and effectively use cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment
- Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions in English
- Relate well to students, staff, parents, and the public
