Job Summary

The Instructional Para-Educator: Specialized Healthcare supports classroom teachers in delivering instruction while assisting in the implementation of lessons and daily classroom activities. Under the direction of certificated staff and in collaboration with the District Nurse or medical personnel, the Para-Educator works with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic concepts and support student engagement.

This position provides direct support to students with exceptional needs, including those who may be academically, physically, or developmentally challenged. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, mobility, and health-related services such as feeding, toileting, hygiene, and other specialized medical procedures as trained.

The Para-Educator also supports classroom management, monitors student behavior and safety, assists with instructional materials, and helps maintain a structured and inclusive learning environment.
