Job Description / Essential Elements
Basic Function: Under general supervision from the appropriate certificated instructional personnel, assist with instructional and non-instructional duties in a program designed to serve students with special educational needs.
Representative Duties: Incumbents may perform any combination of the essential functions listed below. Duties may vary from classroom to classroom within the school site. This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge or abilities associated with this classification, but is intended to accurately reflect the principal job elements.
Student Support and Assistance
Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow-up on learning activities.
Prepare daily and weekly lesson plans based on students’ Individualized Education Plan.
Assist students in locating and using resource materials; assist students with specific accommodations identified in a student’s Individualized Education Plan.
