Job Description / Essential Elements
students who require, in addition to significant instructional supports, substantial behavioral intervention and/or significant activities of daily living needs support.
Distinguishing Characteristics: A paraprofessional who provides one-on-one and small group assistance to a severely disabled student(s) who experiences substantial academic challenges and who also requires significant behavioral intervention and/or activities of daily living needs support.
Representative Duties: Incumbents may perform any combination of the essential functions listed below. Duties may vary from classroom to classroom within the school site. This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge or abilities associated with this classification, but is intended to accurately reflect the principal job elements.
Academic Support Duties:
Assists teachers in implementing lessons or portions of lessons to a student or a group of students,
checks accuracy of work, and presents additional assignments as directed by a teacher.
