CLASSIFIED JOB DESCRIPTION
BUS DRIVER
DEFINITION:
Under general supervision, to operate a school bus over designated routes to transport school children; to assist in keeping assigned school bus in clean and safe condition; and to do related work as required.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Drives a school bus daily over designated routes in accordance with time schedules, picking up and discharging school children.
- Transports students and teachers on field trips to various locations, following District Policy.
- Inspects bus prior to operation for safety purposes.
- Keeps bus clean and reports mechanical defects.
- Maintains order among school children on buses.
- Follows established district policies and regulations regarding disciplining of children and contact with parents and other citizens.
- Maintains daily records on assigned route and bus operation.
- Observes the courtesy of the road, driving in a safe and prudent manner as determined by road conditions and weather.
- Administers first aid to students. …
