Class Summary
Under general supervision, to keep an assigned building area clean, sanitary, safe and orderly; to secure rooms and buildings; to do special cleaning and building maintenance periodically; to do some outdoor cleaning; and to do related work as required.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Sweeps, mops, waxes, resurfaces and seals floors; vacuums rugs and carpets; dusts, washes and polishes furniture and woodwork; empties and cleans waste receptacles; washes windows, walls sinks and fountains; cleans restrooms; polishes metalwork; fills paper and soap dispensers; replaces light bulbs and makes minor maintenance repairs; replenishes supplies; turns out lights and secures area by locking doors, windows and gates; patrols areas to prevent vandalism and theft; moves, arranges and sets up furniture and equipment for sporting and special events and meetings; directs students and visitors to designated locations; raises, lowers, folds and stores flags; cleans cafeteria; may transport goods and supplies from one location to another; may supervise student workers. …
