Job Summary
SUMMARY: With the oversight of the credentialed teacher, the paraprofessional provides classroom assistance to students in grades K-8.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following:
Under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher, the paraprofessional plans appropriate instructional/learning strategies and activities, including determination of appropriate principles of learning, classroom organizational structures, and kind and level of materials.
Duties for this role may also include supervising students during yard duty and lunch duty, as needed. Responsibilities include monitoring student safety and behavior, promoting positive interactions, helping to resolve minor conflicts, enforcing school rules and expectations, responding appropriately to incidents or emergencies, and maintaining a safe, orderly, and inclusive environment for all students.
