State Preschool Aide

Definition

Under the supervision of the State Preschool Director; to perform a variety of regular and/or supplemental instructional duties; to perform related work as assigned.

Essential Duties

1. Administer developmental assessments; plan curriculum for students; plan activities; prepare materials for students and parents;
2. Make referrals to appropriate services based on family needs;
3. Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and learning activities;
4. Complete documents required for program activities in a timely manner;
5. Assist in maintaining a neat, orderly and attractive learning environment;
6. Assist with parent contacts by telephone or in person serving as an interpreter as required;
7. Operate various office equipment (typewriter, computer, copy machine, etc.); and
8. Meet regularly with teachers and/or certificated support staff to plan program activities and review materials and assignments;
9. Assure the health and safety of students by following established practices and procedures;
