Para-Educator – Special Education
Job Summary
Para Educator – Special Education will, under supervision of the Director of Special Education (or designee) perform necessary duties of a responsible nature to assist in the planning and implementation of a program for students.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge of:
District policies and procedures as they apply to curriculum and sound educational practice for a diverse student population. Child growth and development principles. Recordkeeping techniques. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary, oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. Techniques and skills for a modern office environment. Applicable State Education Code sections and other applicable laws. General understanding of different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. Knowledge of Special Education laws, procedures and process for special needs students.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Implement and monitor student IEP.
