Job Summary

The Cafeteria Assistant supports the efficient daily operation of the school nutrition program by assisting with meal service, food preparation, receiving and organizing food and supplies, and maintaining a clean, safe, and professional food service environment. This position is responsible for providing courteous service to scholars and staff, following established portioning and meal service procedures, accurately completing assigned point-of-sale and meal accountability functions, and adhering to all applicable USDA, National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements. The Cafeteria Assistant works collaboratively with the Cafeteria Manager and Nutrition Services team to ensure meals are served accurately and efficiently, food temperatures and sanitation standards are maintained, supplies are properly stocked, and all assigned cleaning and operational duties are completed in accordance with established Nutrition Services policies and procedures. …
