Position Summary
The School Custodian plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position is responsible for daily cleaning, basic maintenance, and ensuring that all areas of the campus are prepared for learning and school activities. This position is essential to creating a healthy, safe, and positive learning environment. The School Custodian directly supports student well-being, school operations, and the overall campus experience.
Key Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, offices, cafeterias, and common areas.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and maintain floors and surfaces.
Perform minor repairs (light bulbs, loose fixtures, small maintenance issues).
Monitor building safety by checking doors, windows, alarms, and reporting hazards.
Set up and break down rooms for meetings, assemblies, and school events.
Empty trash, manage recycling, and ensure proper waste disposal.
Restock cleaning and restroom supplies.
Respond promptly to spills, leaks, or urgent maintenance needs. …
