ATTENDANCE TECHNICIAN

BASIC FUNCTION:

Under the direction of an Assistant Principal or an Office Manager, provide accurate accounting of student enrollment and attendance at a high school or intermediate school in accordance with provisions of the California Education Code; communicate with staff, students and parents concerning student attendance; operate an automated attendance record system.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

Account for daily attendance of all enrolled students by making and receiving calls or notes of student absence from parents, verify absences by processing notes each day. E

Process and verify student absence information from parents and teachers and issue excuses to students to be absent from classes. E

Assist parents in person or by phone regarding student absences. E

Assist in registering new students; receive and check forms for accuracy; record names, addresses, and other identifying material of students entering and dropping in a student directory; enter data into CRT involving adds, drops, codes, absences, and verifications. …
