Under the supervision of the special education/classroom teacher, performs tasks to aid in the teaching of special education and general education. Duties may vary according to
specific type of special education class.
o When assigned to a special education class aide will work with students who may have emotional, educational or behavioral problems.
o When assigned to a severely handicapped special education class, aide may work with
students who have severe physical, emotional, educational or behavioral problems.
o Where the special education program is included in the regular classroom, the aide will
work with special education and regular education students, as well as the regular and special
education teachers. …
