Job Description
The Oncology Retail Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in compounding, preparing and dispensing medical prescriptions after receiving information from customers or patients according to prescriptions.
The technician verifies prescription insurance coverage, identifies and helps resolve rejected claims, and supports the prior authorization process by gathering required information and coordinating with pharmacists, providers, clinic staff, patients, and insurance plans. Additional responsibilities may include helping patients navigate copay assistance and medication access programs, coordinating prescription refills, and communicating medication availability or coverage concerns to the oncology care team. …
