Job Description / Essential Elements
I. Position Purpose
The Preschool Teacher Aide is responsible for the general supervision and management of classes of preschool/pre-k children between the ages of 2.9 and 6 years old.
II. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily Activities:
Conduct an effective child development program to meet the social, emotional, physical, language, cognitive, and spiritual development of each child, in accordance with the policies and philosophy of St. Stanislaus Preschool. As well as meeting all child care licensing standards. All Teachers and Aides are mandated reporters for child abuse.
Ensure the safety of children through constant supervision (teachers need to be spread out on the playground), effective arrangement of space, proper maintenance of equipment, and regular practice of fire drill and other emergency procedures. This includes making sure that children are signed in and out each day by an adult authorized by the parent to do so.
