JOB SPECIFICATION
BUS DRIVER
THE POSITION
Under general supervision, provides safe and efficient transportation in driving a bus or transportation vehicle over an assigned route in the transport of students, including field trips, athletic and other similar student activities; and performs related work as required.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Transportation Supervisor
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Positions in this class receive general supervision from the Director of Transportation and Safety and participate in regular training programs as required by law. Incumbent’s primary responsibility is safe and legal bus driving at all times; and operation of a vehicle in compliance with District policy, State codes and regulations and State Education Code Section 14203. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to checking, cleaning and some servicing of the bus.
