Education/Experience/Certifications to Qualify:
- Associate's degree in applied science or high school diploma/GED with two years training as defined by the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and the National Society of Histotechnology.
- Three years' experience in a clinical histology lab preferred.
- HT (ASCP) certification preferred.
Essential Functions:
- Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
- Assures accurate and timely accessioning, labeling and billing of specimens, according to departmental practices.
- Assures accurate and timely processing and staining of specimens, according to departmental practices.
